Transgendered Cows, the Nintendo DS, and Movies
Last night we went to a Drive in for a Dusk til Dawn weekend special. During the course of the evening they showed Barnyard, Accepted, You me & Dupree, and FF3 Tokyo Drift. What stuck with me through the entire evening was that all of the cows in Barnyard have udders. The two main characters, Ben (old leader) and his son Otis (carefree slacker surfer) both udders. In case you are unfamiliar with animal anatomy only female cows have udders. Needless to say the comedic gold of the night lay in the word udders, or utters as the spelling challenged in our group put it.
This leads into the next great part about the drive in, I brought my DS Lite along and quickly found out one of our friends in another car had recently picked one up as well. Picto chat is a great way to criticize movies when it is well into the morning hours.
Accepted was a great movie and related very well with my Grad school reading of Robert Greenleaf’s Servant Leadership. I hope to flesh that out into a longer post later this week. Lewis Black played the great role of a disenfranchised Dean of South Harmon Institute of Technology. Put those initials together the same way you do Ohio Stat University. Go ahead I’ll wait…… That’s right the kids attend a school whose acronym is S.H.I.T. and whose school color is brown, Nice. Anyway running joke cut short check out this movie when you get a chance.
In other movie news Crank came out this past Friday and looks great, we will definitely be checking it out in the near future.
