Apple’s iPhone Rumored Release date of Jan 15th
Bloggingstocks.com has received a tip which puts the release date for the iPhone at January 15th just 3 days after the big Mac World Expo. The tip doesn’t answer my big questions about the device but thankfully we will know soon.
I want to know:
- If the iPhone will have a PDA portion
- If it will be CDMA aka Will it work for Verizon’s Networks
- Will iTunes ever pull out a subscription music?
- Will it play nice with Outlook?
Are you getting an iPhone in January?

Innovative Business Cards: Why Doesn’t My Company Have These
I love business cards that are abnormal. Why you may ask because i have a stack fo normal cards form all the conferences i have attended and its simply that a stack. If I do good I am able to put a few contacts into outlook but otherwise its just a stack, on my desk, in the corner. This is an innovative card, I wish that my employer had something that really stood out like this, ours are professional but not stretchy.

Can’t read it? Get in shape!

Granted innovation is extra cool when it relates to what you do, a rubber band is hardly a good business card for a University.
The Christmas Story That Made the President Cry
Jason Stoddard has written a fantastic Christmas story which has been posted on futurustic. The ending is one you may not expect and this story really made my day. I have tried about 6 sentences to describe what this story represented to me but I cannot figure out how to describe it. the Story takes maybe 10 minutes to read and I highly recommend you take the time to do so, it is well worth it.
“Not so long ago,” David said, “Santa Claus was just a story. You may have heard it. A man who lived at the North Pole, who worked all year with his elves to bring gifts to all the good little kids in the world.”
“Santa’s in Alaska,” Sandra said.
David nodded. So she’d been doing some research. “He is now. But back then, he was just a story. Kids believed in him for a while, but then they found out that their dad was eating the cookies that they left for Santa.”
“And no sleigh,” Sandra said.
David smiled. “Kind of hard to have sleighs in Los Angeles.”
“I guess so.”
“But one day, a smart man named Jack —”
“Jack Frost?”
“Jack Hammond, actually.”
“Oh.”
“Anyway, Jack had a great idea. He saw the UDS driver wearing a bright red Santa hat while he made his deliveries. And he thought, ‘Why couldn’t they dress up as Santa Claus and deliver gifts to people on Christmas Eve? It’d be like Santa for real.’

Music Executives Behaving Badly Pt III
Music executives’ tongues are getting looser and looser as the year goes on. First Doug Morris calls iPod owners theives, then Edgar Bronfman admits his children steal music with no legal repercussions, and now Richard Parsons, CEO and Chair of Time Warner has stated that,“I like music. I have iPods everywhere. I had the whole bunch of (the Warner music collection) files put on before we sold it.” He is more or less admitting to pirating music.
I am runing out of things to say about these executives who either don’t get their consumer or don’t play by the stringent and overzealous rules and consequences Joe Consumer needs to abide by.
The moral of the story is if you are suing other people for stealing your music it is ok to steal said music.
In other news the MPAA thinks it is ok to make a copy of a film so long as it serves your purpose, you keep it in a safe and you have money.
Get a Text Alert When Your School is Delayed
I came across this useful site Schooldelay.com which works with schools to send text message, email and RSS alerts to students and parents when their school is canceled or delayed. The push factor of this site is leaps and bounds above the method we used to use to find out if school was canceled which consisted of listening to the local radio and delaying the start of our day until the announcer got the the T section of the school closings. At which point we either rushed through a shower or ran back to bed. With Schooldelay.com the info is pushed to you in whichever method is the most convenient for your. If your phone is on your nightstand then as a student I am sure you will welcome an early morning text message during the winter months, and parents will be happy to know what plans need made without spending 15 minutes in front of the TV or listening to the radio on a already busy morning (don’t forget you need to scrape your windshield today!).
I believe the schools can also use the system to get in touch with parents for other necessary mass announcements which could come up. The Schooldelay site also shows school statistics for each school in your area making it a good resource for determining a school or school district to move into.
Schooldelay.com also features an online store which offers some great toys for younger children and Stikfas action figures for older kids like me. They offer an option to set up a spirit store to the schools which will let them receive a portion of proceeds for their use. If you want to pick up a cool Christmas present the owner has provided this code for free shipping: R01K-9517-Q4V2 which is good until December 20th. I recommend the Stikfas or the Automoblox Cars but those are just for the kid in me. There are also educational toys as well as toys for children of all ages.
Finally after talking to the owner and to my Mom(who is a teacher) the price for a school to use SchoolDelay.com is more affordable than similar offerings. You can use a form on thier site to request that yoru school start using the service as well.
