My wife just activated an LG VX5500 from Verizon and Bitpim can't access it. What a pain. We were using Bitpim to share/sync our contact lists between phones. Our only chance at this point is continuing to use Bitpim on my phone, LG VX8350, then pushing the data to my wifes phone via Bluetooth.

Which will work until my phone dies...

So I just tried the latest dev release (BitPim test 1.07.20090303) and it still complains that my LG VX8360's pim dir has access denied by Verizon (GFBs!). I hope someone hacks this soon. I don't even care about ringtones, just want to sync my phone book! (Of course the friendly folks at Verizon will do this for a fee... GFBs!)

ATTN:

BitPim's latest release works!!! I recently got a new VX8300 with the latest software version (version 4) and my original BitPim did not work.

So, I went to there website and downloaded the latest developmental release and BAM! Cookin' with gas. That'll teach those Verizon bastards. I'm going to post this on every phone forum I can find. Here's the first. The link to the latest version of BitPim is below. Enjoy.

Okay i agree 100% someone will figure out a way around this bs, i was thinking about taking my verizon service off my phone then trying to add my contacts and ringtones then turn the service back on. Do you think i have a chance of this working? I love bitpim and am not going to live without it! I bought this 9900 with the intent to customize it, its my phone and i'll be damned if im going to not be able to customize a phone i dropped a near fortune on!!! If anyone figures anything out please email me.

Okay i agree 100% but were smarter then that someone will figure out a way around this bs, i was thinking about taking my verizon service off my phone then trying to add my contacts and ringtones then turn the service back on. Do you think i have a chance of this working? I love bitpim and am not going to live without it! If that doesn't work what i might try is returning the phone and before doing anything to the new phone putting my personal stuff on MY PHONE then turning on the service. I bought this 9900 with the intent to customize it its my phone and i'll be damned if im going to not be able to customize a phone i dropped a near fortune on!!! If anyone figures anything out please email me.
