In Soviet Russia Ebook Reads You!

Engadget broke this story last week and I am just now catching up on Amazon’s new Ebook Reader which was outed by the FCC. The Kindle is a workhorse even touting EVDO coverage for on the go downloads and possibly web browsing. It seems as if Amazon skimped on designers and went with some off the shelf components for the exterior. Apparently they got the leftovers from the 80’s Russian overstock depot. If you are going to launch a standalone device for ebook reading, please at least make it visually appealing. SO far I have heard that the Kindle may clock in around $500, which is too high in my opinion.
Check out the specs

The specs on this beast sound amazing, though I am still disappointed that the ebook market seems to be hinged on one to three trick ponies rather than a PDA smartphone.
