Last week I upgraded to “semi-fancy” permalinks with the help of Dean’s Permalink Migration Tool for Wordpress. This tool in theory sends visitors to old web addresses to the new ones via a 301 redirect.
Thus far I have had good luck though Alex King’s 404 Notifier has been picking up some explainable and some odd 404 errors.
If you have run into issues coming from Google Reader to my recent post about Tobias Buckell’s Ragamuffin bign up for a Nebula, that is due to my mispelling of the post title.
The odd 404 issues include url’s being redirected which end up looking like, http://www.imjosh.comhttp://www.imjosh.com/?p=548, or http://www.imjosh.comhttp://www.imjosh.com/http://www.imjosh.comhttp://www.imjosh.com/?p=548
Anyone know what the latter is about? If you experience this and wouldn’t mind helping me figure it out let me know by leaving a comment below..
