I sent a letter last Wednesday to Sallie MAe Via E-mail. I sent it to customer service . I’ve heard Nothing back as of yet. I would like some answers.
See letter below:
1)I have recently called and spoke to a person outside of the US. I asked them why my payment was totally going to Pay Interest Only and not the Principal. I was told the interest is 82.34 and my payment is 82.34. It is not an interest only account. At this rate the principal will never be paid off.
I think that your company solicited money from my sister under false pretences and she should be refunded her payments.
2)My sister Judy Vera CO-Signed for my loan. 1)I have been making payments each month. 2)You have been calling her for a long time to tell her I haven’t been paying. 3) You have been excepting payments from me and from my sister. 4)We didn’t know we were both making payments. 5) I never received a statement that two payments were being made each month and neither did my sister!!!!6)First of all, one payment should go to pay the interest and the second payment should have been for principal only!!!7) The 1098 I that you sent me only reflexs the interest for my payments. You didn’t include the interest that was coming out of my sisters second monthly payment.
Last but not least. Does the Obama stimulus plan for students pertain to me and can I refi for a lower interest rate.

Yes this works. Be sure to ask where you are calling, when I called I ended up in a call center in India, where our personal information is not protected. I asked for, and got, an American rep on the phone (after the indian sup came on the phone to mk sure that’s what I wanted).

Asshats! It took me 45 minutes to get to an agent. I am so pissed off with Sallie Mae. I would never recommend their service to anyone. Their phone menus are long difficult to navigate and take forever to get through. And at the end of it, there is no option for an agent. What assclowns!
This is the first time I’ve called in 7 years and what a pain in the ass.
